Anamnesis is a collaborative effort between Emily Kray and Alexander Arce. Taking the form of a scroll, it carries information about paradigms of opposition: Interior versus exterior, isolation versus companionship, health versus illness, and wealth versus poverty. The events of the COVID-19 pandemic during 2020 have brought all of these themes to various points of intersection within the human body, and the scroll can be recognizes as evidence of this struggle.
This project responds to the present moment as we try to access our memories pre-COVID isolation, and attempt to adjust back to 'normalcy'. Anamnesis displays the integrity of the human spirit by showcasing resilience and persevering existence among the insecurity and imbalance happening at a global scale.
